Not exactly Bancroft Ranch.  Close, and very nice–just not that pedigree.  Lovely warm mineral and oak nose, deep fruit still viable, but fading.  Biting acid and tannin, just…. fruit absolutely at its peak.  I’ve had way worse Poms half this age tho.  NEVER FALL IN LOVE WITH A YOUNG BDX’S STRUCTURE UNLESS IT HAS THE FRUIT IN THERE SOMEWHERE. ←Sooooo easy to make that mistake. Still VERY good, but suffering from that older mid-palate Merlot meagerness.  14.3   ♦♦
