My First 2013

Ultra-clear, thin garnet with clear edges.  I’ve drank Paso Rosés darker than this.  Fresh-cut leaf vegetables, raw green beans and latex overwhelm the bouquet.  A deep lingering oak shines through with a little air.  *Carbonic* is the method under which grapes go through primary fermentation under a carbon-dioxide-rich environment rather quickly and extremely low on extraction and tannin.  Expectantly thin but brightly fruited.  This is several notches more concentrated than your typical Beaujolais and far more polished with dusky Pinot fruit than any nouveau.  I am not a huge fan of this style of wine, but appreciate it for what it is.  Crisp acidity and a mere smattering of tannin round everything out in nice, balanced fashion.
