Dark dark ruby, staining with tiny pink edges. A very closed-in black cherry and leather buried under strong latex-glove/Vitamin B with oxidized fruit and alcohol lurking. In the mouth, sweet, thick, chewy fruit of an intensely ripe variety hits hard and fast with bright acidity, tapering off to mild tannins. That’s about it. This is not a complex wine. Serviceable and interesting, yes–and the pricepoint is nice. It is not awkward or necessarily unbalanced, just practically pancake syrup. 16-2 ♦
