Thin garnet with wide salmon edges. Big, heady nose, roasted meat, grape stems and alcohol with a certain multi-vitamin nuttiness. Wet leather and petrichor. Round and warm in the mouth, shockingly unsimple, showing impressive ripeness and concentration with edgy tannins after. This is a 5$ wine at Grocery Outlet, and while it is not something Bella Glos or Sea Smoke fans are going to love, drinkers of varied Pinot Noir from all over California, Oregon and Burgundy will be pleasantly surprised. Vegetal and lovely, I wish it had more barnyard funk, and watery fruit past middle, but then you can SEE that in the initial color. 14-5 ♦
