Dark ruby, staining and dense. Some sed. Floral, concentrated nose, rife with musky perfume, a thick bouquet potent with chocolate and petrichor. Instantly brilliant in the mouth, filling every crevice with a stalwart tincture of thick, chewy fruit and piles of lovely mint, euc and wet evergreen forest. Definitely showing the patina of age, the fruit suffers from just a touch of over-ripe oxidation-casualty but nothing I would even remotely complain about. Lively and round, but almost awkwardly concentrated. Moderate tannin fades away evenly with a bittering of the fruit. Still a stunning wine, although I think it would suffer further ills as 20 neared.
