Deep garnet with seriously bricking corners out to wide and clear. Gamy and ancient-smelling, with burning volatility and massive amounts of not-luscious oak. Decanted hard. Smells like melted plastic and generic M&M’s in pond-water. HEAVY breathing gives a momentary sharp cassis stab before settling back down to Pine-Sol. 45$?!? Holy wow I am so glad I did not pay that for it. In the mouth, the lack of fruit is impossible to ignore from the split-second it hits your tongue. A bright little thin cherry-cola presides over the enveloping mustiness of this watery concoction. Shockingly bitter tannins burn far into the night… I am so done with this wine.
