A Flying Opus

Clear bright garnet out to gently golden edges.  A penetrating leather funk gives way to clean, focused fruit laden with tropical flowers.  Spicy and headily briarific, but nothing much can get in front of the warm, lavish fruit.  Likewise, the obvious minerality is trimmed with elegance.  A decadent SMV, and thankfully replacing the overt sarsaparilla and cola note cloyingly obvious in some examples with a dusty textured floral and dulce le leche.  In the mouth, fruit is restrained but not meager.  An initial indication of voluptuous structure curls bitter while clean liliquoi fruit asserts dominance at various stages of palate.  Effortlessly Pinot, never affronting the senses with varietal schizophrenia or ripeness, classically evolving in the glass through various stages of green grasp and bling buxom, mountain-stream clarity and brackish barnyard encryption.
