Tribal (lack of) Funk

Med garnet with wide clear and brownish edges.  AL in the nose first off, peanut butter and jelly, horse-stall and cream soda.  There’s a dirt element… not sand or soil or gravel: black loam.  Wet.  Simple nose, wonderfully pinot, but not particularly expressive.  Typical Edna.  In the mouth, relatively thin… abrasive acids attempt to detract from the thin fruit and do a pretty good job.  Light and watery, with a solidly un-fruity bitter finish.

2011 KIMIMELA Pinot noir Edna Valley  13-5
