Light ruby, no edge. Big voluptuous round candy cherry nose with sage, celery and burnt rubber. A bomb of epic proportions: fruit and otherwise. Rich and ripe–and accompaningly alcoholic–easy to smell the components but also easy to argue the manipulation. Sweet berry cassis, 7-Up and oak all around. In the mouth, an awkward little acid up front, resting on oak and rich berry. Shallow earthiness melds perfectly into sharp tannin finish. A nice quaffer, but nothing seriously Pinot. Well, seriously pinot for the bullshit masses, but easy to see through the vapid barnyard and burning AL to reflect on the fake fruit.
