Pinkish ruby dense and staining. Heady bright, fresh fruit but steeped in licorice, tapenade and a sort of dried/grilled nuance to the richer end of things. This is a darling, darling wine, and even though there was only a half-dozen barrels produced, it tends to pop up fairly regularly at shops throughout California who embrace a more IPOB sort of mentality. Lovely Loire funk rises up hard and translates directly into the mouth, where tart candy and floral reign supreme into the delicate tannins of the finish. An absolute bargain. Find it.
