Pale straw. Meager cut grass and raw egg. Fairly closed-in. Wilted dark greens with cedar shavings tinged in match-head. I try so hard to get my head around these hipster-offerings and I Just. Can’t. Do it.
You know how they used to say Viognier was “White wine for Red-drinkers”? Well, this crap is Wine For Beer-Drinkers. OK, ‘crap’ is a bit harsh, but this stuff is green, sour, weirdly-nuanced and funky. And not in a good way.
Thin-salty on the palate, tongue-dry minerality and salty-licorice–although delicate these all are. A raspberry-leaf-tea herbaceous sweet-bitterness dominates the finish.
