Bottle 12/12 and while sad to see it gone, it is time. 1-6 were beautiful, 7-10 were stunning, 11 showed fatigue. A bit tarry and flat, still with a big pine-needle nose and toast and butter and raw beef but dulled down into the slow walk of an old man coursing through his same village paths, nodding to all the same people, but needs a little youth to get across the street. Fruit is a candied elixir, muted and wrinkled, and has to rest frequently–the energy of the structure just isn’t there: tannin smooth and hairless–telling the same stories–and you laugh respectfully.
