The lightest shade of transparent garnet possible with a lovely ruby core. Edgy briar and funk explode out of the nose pushing along flinty raw potato, cut grass and rusty iron. Working your way past all the Pinot loveliness finds you face to face with a sarsaparilla fruit elegant and light on its feet–wispy even–but packing a stewed beef wallop dredged in allspice, fennel, and stationery-store.
In the mouth a delicateness so ethereal catches you off-guard: An absolute angels kiss of beautiful fruit slowly growing into a full round mouth feel as the brick wall of patent-leather caramel bitterness prepares to leave its tannic imprint on your face. I’ve drank 14 Central Coast Pinots since Thursday. This is my favorite.
