A strange clear other-worldly purple with a nose of German Chocolate cake and Amaretto. Smooth maple sugar oak-ade everywhere. Is this real wine? Rarely do we think of something so far from the Central Valley as being this lab-created.
In the mouth an overtly-sweet bitterness plays mumblety-peg with searing alcohol. The almond-extract bouquet is impossible to ignore throughout, creating after-dinner elixir: a fat, vapid roundhouse of cough syrup, cherry cola, banana peel and first-year oenology grad.
