Dark ruby, no edges and moderatley staining. Big chalky nose of match-head fresh-blood evisceration, damp grass and acrid fruit, throughout stained with an innocence thwarted by the reality of fruit cut short. An effluence I would gladly recognize in Chinon or Cru Gamay, but in Syrah it just seems awkward and non-aligning.
In the mouth, bitter and fading, three years old and aging like a 22-year-old street-whore. Shallow thin watery un-promising unsweetened KoolAid with a Cynar back, an un-EVERYTHING Patagonia-lumberjack deconstructed fusion burrito rolled up in fixie innertube. Off-putting and un-redeeming, viscous Vitamin-C astringency combined with dusty fruit present a picture of a wine striving to achieve… really… nothing. I guessed 12-9.
