Clear light garnet out to wide clear edges. Fresh crusty cardamom pie-crust on a tart cherry filling, this blistering-light-garnet Anderson Valley oozes tree roots and soft strawberry fruit against grainy minerality, salted briar and black licorice. Tight as a drum and light on its feet it packs bitter espresso angst against ripe oak-infused mom-candy offerings, the ornamental plum and pie-cherry mouthfeel singing brilliant high notes of California goodness stretched over an Old World frame.
These are interesting wines made with minimal intervention, using wild yeasts and ML and with no filtering or fining. This bottling is made using all neutral oak. Due to the natural wine nature of this producer, careful decanting is recommended as some early sediment is visible and will cloud the wine.
This is Anderson Valley perfection through-and-through, decidedly light and ethereally fruited, but playing into a field serious Pinot snobs will relish.
