All the quintessntial Zinfandel notes come to rest here on this supermarket darling with nary a flaw. No fat pruney, no obtuse plumminess, no overt alcohol, and no fruit-FWDness. Just perfect classic California Zin–not EVEN playing on the crutch of *Old Vine*… just reaching for the dusky roundness of fruit but never succombing to the flatulence of Lodi or the greenness of Mendocino. Tannin interwoven seamlessly between blackberry and rubber-band, tar and gravel. Massaged to near-perfect balance, it truly is a testament to almost-perfect quality in a 20k+ case brand. An INSANELY good deal for under 20 bucks at the grocery.
