A little cork mis-hap won’t keep me out of this one. I’m callin this cowboy Dusty, and it’s all chaps and horse-sweat, manure and chaparral with a back of muddy alcohol. Over-worked fruit with almost a decade of fading means a bitter tobacco-spit in the campfire of oak reduction and textbook new-world ripeness. Bold and peppery, hot and ridonculously still tannic, it is drinking at peak and look for a death-spiral to commence shortly. This thing is rough, ready and fun to drink once you get a handle on the course edges. There’s a shit-ton of fruit still in there. And no, you haven’t crapped bigger than this wine.
