Bright light goldenrod. Cool-water sea-foam clean-stall barnyard over a spinach salad dressed with Catalina and raisins. A very unique Gewurtz, but I like it. Still, calm cellar late-nose, with a meaty fullness but no flabbiness.
Crisp and fragrant, attacking and robust, thinning to incredible bitter chewiness in the finish. There’s only 150 cases of this and at 25 bucks, it bats hard for hand-crafted Gewurztraminer of this pedigree. I fell in love with this guy’s wines some time ago and the winners just keep coming.
In the mouth, lemon-lime spritz drives beautiful melon and bitter angst far into the entire palate. There’s a candied, comfort-food generosity about the mouth-feel that again: is very unique, but I like it. A lot.
