Remember that chubby girl in high school that everyone wanted to be friends with? Knew all the right people, laughed easily and genuinely and was kind and sweet most of the time but had a biting humor, bitchiness and great smarts when it mattered.
Calling this wine Super Tuscan is like calling Yngwie Malmsteen a classical guitarist. I’m not a Master Somm but I’m pretty sure Malbec and Petite Sirah aren’t typically in the blend. But whatever peppery dense notes they provide for the Sangio & Cab in this little charmer are reason enough for me.
Thin and bright, a fresh nose of cheerful rosy goodness, dank barnyard and barely-cloying fruit, it washes all kinds of sweet/bitter concentration over the tongue into a finish more fruity than tannic. A great nod to Chianti AND Sonoma in one easy bottle.
