Awkward green decomposition in the nose flirted with by a tiny Hawaiian Punch note. Smokey and burnt. Bitter, hot and completely devoid of fruit, its watery middle devolves into a finish of aluminum scrapings and flat Mr. Pibb. Ridiculously uninspiring Pinot Noir #2 for the evening, this one happens to also be a 2013 from Santa Lucia Highlands, not a Garys’ though, and half the price.
