Funky dragon-fruit, a touch of over-ripe papaya, and that overweight violin teacher’s house in 5th grade who had 3 pianos and 7 cats and hadn’t thrown away a newspaper in three decades. It hits you hard and fast in the nose, breathing out to a dull green thud of sliced potatoes, scallions, and sort of petting-zoo bell pepper.
In the mouth, it goes all clean and bright, leaving–like basically ALL sauv-blancs–all the green and chalkboard sordidness behind. No other variety tastes so differently than it smells. Crisp and steely, while still maintaining a rich buttery–almost Viognier-ish–sensibility and a salted licorice finish with a slight burn.
