An impressive shade of garnet. Gaseous and blustery, dark-smelling, with pinched herb, sugar, spice, and salt oozing up through soaking-wet pier-planks, solitary fishermen and seagull poop. There’s a definite age on it, and this age is headed prune–as you would assume any cheap euro would.
Beautiful in the mouth though. Fruit-shy, bitter tertiary, licorice, sage and black tea the emphasis and vacant of finish. You could pick this shit apart and complain about it all day, but bottom line: it’s not worth it. It is a beautiful, cheap, interesting Italian red from a not-usual appell with a little age on it and it is workin FINE.
