Beautiful, bright, clean Chardonnay, and I say this with a bit of surprise, as rarely I see a brand new winery–especially hanging out its shingle in Paso–hit the street with clean, un-touristy wines. Sure there’s a bit of sumptuous decadence to it (all chard should have this), but nowhere is nutter-butter extravagance. Headed into slight green in the glass, a nose calm and straight-forward: tiny bits of tropical and lily curling the edges with restrained green apple and plum visible from a distance.
In the mouth, nearly perfect in all ways: sharp ridges of acid wasting no time introducing themselves to the palate, the rest all sparkling focus on what makes Chardonnay a great wine. Earth, mineral and oak all in balance making for a wine hard to find fault with. Expertly crafted, glitening with Edna gloriousness throughout. The finish dries out into grippy tannin well worth the wait. I love this wine. Small production, not terribly expensive, and a definite recommend.
