Diggng into another of these RRV beauties from Dr. Pinot… Amber-garnet in the glass, a nose of browned butter and lavish ripe fruit. Generous weedy briar emits, all broken down into a mineralific-acidic tinge going nicely with the luxury of the fruit.

Rather thin on attack, the clarity of ripeness and perfection of berry making for a mouth-feel rather luxurious while not over-whelmingly dense or syrupy. Tannin grips the early-middle thru finish, a dry spike of acid and structure making things chewy while again: fruit–despite its ripeness–remains focused and restrained. A 50% WC and nearly FR wine showing slight typicity of each function but nothing over-wrought from either. A rather light, easy-drinking pinot which has all the hallmarks to live up to its DIAM30 closure. An ethereal wine showing what clarity and ease of style can do for complexity and longevity.
