A wine I told you was wonderful years ago and nothing’s changed. I’ve tasted subsequent vintages and it is a bit variable, but this 13 is bangin. Ridiculously grainy, effusive with spice and concentration with an eloquent pond-water nose. Is that bad? Only if you’re dumb.
Tannin and structure rips the roof of your mouth off while stupid fruit clamors for attention at every aside. Glorious blackberry density grasps at classic funk and calm valley floor intensity in a bottle contriving definition. A timeless wine I am glad to have multiples of for savoring over the next several decades. Acidic and dense, a truer definition of Napa cab could not be realized.
