WINES OF THE DAY @rhonerangers tasting, where Texas and Rogue River Valley were well represented and Carignane was well represented but–shockingly–two Syrahs stood out, the top notch going to Paso and a close second to Ojai via Sonoma. Ridiculously structured, gobs of green vegetal, piles of tannin and fruit beautifully restrained and complex. Find them.
