Hardly

Deep, nearly impenetrable black/purple, a nose vague with distilled dark fruits, alcohol and rather nice earthy spice, with a somewhat musty, wine-y headiness. It takes a few steps back in the mouth, where thin, cheap, ripe fruitiness persuades any distinct characteristics of the bouquet into supermarket plonk. Tinny and sharp… I suppose one could say “an acidic sway” causes fruit to relegate itself into a conformist idealogy of loveliness I can’t get behind. It’s just… not… interesting, and while Syrah glory is available on several fronts, you have to squint a bit to find them. Tannins are a juicy affair and I’m done. Just a safe, predictable, boring wine millions of people will love and anyone with a 3-digit IQ will fall asleep over while trying to find something inherently *wrong* with it.
