Crazy funk on pop-n-pour, gradually blowing off to mere *interesting* moldy briar. Asparagus greenery melds well with bruised berry in the nose, and continues on over the palate. Sharp and biting on the tongue, with copious tannin claiming the finale in bitter aplomb. “Harsh” comes to mind, though it is all played down on rather ripe encroachments and basically no tertiary. An odd wine–to be sure–but dorkily pleasant and complex with rational digging. Just don’t dig too far or things get awkward.
