#winebro 2011

Palmaz second label in a *bad year* And obviously the flagship wine is a ridiculously over the top over ripe over concentrated over-oped #winebro darling so it’s interesting to see how the bargain off-juice from such an establishment would function both with 12 years of age and from an allegedly bad year. A little banana tropical nose signaling over concentration and heavy-handedness in making, but everything else checks a bunch of boxes. Gorgeous fruit, a little tiny mustiness that blows off into a little gear lube and petrol sophistication. It’s still dark and concentrated and showing almost no tertiary, color is deep ruby with no clear rim. In the mouth, spicy and a little hot with plentiful briar and a playful sort of bitterness headed down into it slightly inbalanced finish. A very good wine, but a rather simple one, a wine trying really hard and succeeding on most points.
