I really really don’t want to file this under *past-prime*, but that would be the easy, non verbose method. I am reticent to throw it under that bus though IT is reticent to show me anything truly beautiful. But a decade-old cab of this pedigree –only 14-two–being faded is hard to believe, EVEN if it would bolster my *hi-ranked-vintages-don’t-age* mantra. It’s a beautiful wine, just not THAT beautiful, pumping out dreary burnt tidbits of ripeness alongside grainy tertiary distillations and sharp burning tannins. The fruit is splayed out in a fashion not unlike that chubby bartender who keeps making eyes with you though defies rationalization. The age is presented as a too-skinny chalkiness like that 50YO vegan you see at the pool. The finish goes on and on, but kinda like an argument with your girlfriend. Requests for comment from the winery were not immediately returned.
