Text me from Paso

Probably one of the greatest bargains ever to come out of Napa Valley which remained that way for quite a few years before they switched their production to Paso Robles, therefore indicting themselves into the obese world of no one cares. Didn’t banshee do the same thing? The pricetag on this shows the @calistogawinestop, so that’s kinda a bittersweet memory. Ripe but not to the point of cloying, packed with achy briar and granite granulation, peat and redwood climb into the mouthfeel from easy introductions to the nose. Tannins are basically the same tannins we’ve experienced from Napa Valley since about 1996. Which–if I were still a winemaker–would lead me to think, “Hey, why don’t we just start sourcing from Paso. Sure would be a lot cheaper and they’re gonna be fat and ripe and the bitches & bros gonna love them!” The rest is history, and those of you in branding know: at the $30 PP no one cares. This is why we can’t have good bargain wines anymore.
