Absolutely hits the spot on a cold windy rainy night on the Central Coast. Forget all those It’s red wine weather type posts, because, you know I’m going to say it: you’re drinking your white wines too cold, and Chardonnay has the richness and audacity to just blast through all of that. 6 years on this one and probably my last example, but what a glorious wine. Pithy and raw, chalky and distinct. Clean, pure nose turns seamlessly to a mouth feel with just the proper amount of richness and all that Chardonnay glory only Chardonnay can muster. Chardonnay is the number one selling wine in the US to the 99% for mostly all the wrong reasons, but when the 1% gets ahold of a Chardonnay like this, you realize why it’s OUR favorite wine for all the right reasons. Clear, bitter finish, ridiculously Chablis-like, Not a speck of butter or fat on it anywhere. I don’t think you can buy this one anymores though.
