The queen of Carignane strikes with this 10YO paso offering showing ALL the amazing things this grape can do. Sultry tertiary clouds the nose, while not showing anything tired or fatigued about it. Fruit a funky, polished wet velvet, slightly bricking in color, drrrrrty tobacco and anise fulfilling everything, acid and balance precariously teetering on ripe while extravagant plushness pushes everything on to perfect–almost CdR-type–levels of delineation. OMG how I love Carignane, and this jewel exposes it all. Smoooooth and expressive, no backward moments or cheap filler represented: this is the real dealio, boys & girls and you would be wise to find some.
