Huge fan but this one at 11 not particularly stunning. Completely drinkable and enjoyable, but a severe lacking of *fruit* encompasses all direction toward greatness. Ridiculously savory nose, spiced with a certain squished-bug nuance not quite favoring into what one would expect to be glorious briar. Complacent and boring, it’s not fatigued, but astringent acidity overwhelms any greatness of tertiary expected. Stark and oblique, a harshness of structure overwhelms what fruit one expects. And I don’t see it improving. Arguably, “it will come around” but really??? Fruit doesn’t grow. And *fruit* seems to be considerably lacking in all places here. I’m not saying I need my cabs lush and ripe, but this is a bit extreme. Notwithstanding the obligatory Alexander Valley harshness and beauty in ageability, this just seems off. Not much to woo about here.
