A most interesting bottle of bubbles. Tons of pfffft and effortless streams forever and ever. Slight yeast and almond cream nuttiness in an absolutely bone-dry package. It feels practically natural, to the point of being fruitily austere. I know it says *brut*, but there are no rules in the US concerning that and if it IS brut, I suspect it at the extreme low end of such dosage, like maybe 5-7 tops. The “California Champagne” is troubling, as I believe Korbel is the only US producer legally able to use that word on a label. The origin and producer of the wine is Rack & Riddle, something else I have never seen on a label and did not know they made and sold anything themselves. But Lord knows they KNOW how to make sparkling wine. These are very good bubbles, currently at GO, so you can imagine the price. If you like a dry, sharp, quality sparkler, I highly recommend finding some. It is a dead-ringer for Perrier-Laurent Cuvee or Ayala Majeur.
