When Bonny Doon made their big shift a half-dozen years ago, I was a bit iffy on their transitions involving several eatablished labels–and still am–but the addition of the little picpoul screwtop Infelt justified. And still do. This is a fairly brilliant wine, almost crystal clear, beautiful nose of pear and natal plum with just enough muddled applesauce to make it interesting. Rich and mouth-filling on uptake, glyceriney and rife with chubby fruit while still maintaining proportional acidity in a finish wash all granite ice water and fern. An extremely suppable wine, not boggling in complexity or boring in complacency, just a great, light, white wine you can drink all day long without remorse.
