Last of the Mohicans

Farily dark garnet running to orange.  Seems almost cloudy.  Massive burnt peat, forest floor, baby diaper nose with fairly strong tinges of AL.  Recedes fairly quickly into dark oak and smoke.  Sharp kiwi, rose-hip entrance and fading middle, finishes decently into bright, light tannins.  Not a horrible wine.  This is a wine a non-pinot person will absolutely HATE.  They be all OMG WHAT IS THIS CRAP, but it really is a fully nuanced, round all-star pinot with a couple years on it.  Absolutely at it’s peak.  Just not stellar or earth-moving.  Price-point is lovely too.  Last year of the Pinot Princess’ self-labelled bottles.  End of an era.   13-8  ♦
EDIT:  Wrong.  2009 was the last PN under the Lane Tanner label.
