Clear garnet, bricking considerably. Nutty, roasted vegetal, peat, undrained earth with a paraffin note very odd and hard to pin down to something you’ve smelled before in a recognizable variety. Woodsy, with bell pepper and wet cardboard and Banana Sours. NO, IT’S NOT CORKED. IT JUST HAS A LITTLE WET CARDBOARD, OK? Sheesh. I’m not enjoying the nose on this thing. It’s just… weird. And not weird in some sort of old-world funky weird–just plain BAD weird. Flabby and showing oxidation in late breathing. In the mouth, rich, but flat and un-nuanced, oxidized and fruitless, with some heavily-polished chalky tannins.
