CLEAN is the Operative Word Here

Thin ruby with ambering edges.  Big tarry background driven by moldy hay and clean Skittles cherry fruit.  Generous dusty floral, cassis and oak dripping with dark chocolate but honestly–despite how this sounds–it is not overblown.  Reasonably crisp and clean for a Zinfandel, with just enough obesity to remind you this IS, indeed, Zinfandel.  In the mouth, thin with a nice balancing act of fruit and acid.  Grows nicely, fruit never stumbles and pulls all the stops out after a slightly watery middle, finishing long and hard with pepper.  Tannins?  Not really.  This is a beautiful Zinfandel and it is going to score well based on focus, value and balance.
