Sy-non-ah-mus Grenache

Thin and bright.  An incredible warm velvet pipe tobacco cherry fruit cat’s belly round supple nose accentuated with mint so alive and fresh.  Tapenade and Olive Oil.  This was my fav Grenache of 2015 and always interesting to re-visit a wine like this just to see….  Concentrated far beyond its color in the mouth, decadently ripe but so much briar, acid, tannin and–yes–heat to offset it all into total balance.  Late-breathing gives a distinct CdP nose and texture.  I discovered this wine on a BTG menu in a Santa Maria restaurant and the first sniff was a life-changing event.  NOT something which often happens with a BTG-pour at a resty.  Not heavily marketed, but easy to source from website.  This guy makes stunning wines.
