Clear garnet with heavy bricking. Big funk initial blows off to sweet maraschino and chocolate over a base oak. A lovely Italian neb smelling rich and ripe which comes on strong and acidic in the mouth. Thin mountain chalky entry grows to solid fruit over mid-palate where abrasive tannins begin to control and sway through finish. Nowhere is any sort of oxidized or prunish fruit consistent with a lot of restaurant Nebbiolo offerings. Bright might be a bit of a stretch, but I don’t think this wine should ever be considered for *bright*. Instead, it broods and swelters, churning out dark fruit against a tide of structure. Lovely for the price-point and compliments a myriad of food. Dense and wonderful and definitely a wine drinking in its prime and not intended for every-day American preference. Google Ghemme.
