Dark ruby with thick edges. Effusive burnt-rubber and decadent dark fruit cranked up into the upper heat notches. A Barbie doll slathered in strawberry icing lying motionless on the broiler-rack. Deep green muddy brier–dirty and sordid–walks mean wet streets around corners barely basking in streetlamp glow.

This is probably my youngest McPrice-Myers to date. I typically purchase and consume them at a 5+ year mark where they show heavy and polished. This thing shows heavy and edgy.

In the mouth an instant abrasiveness envelopes the lush concentration, reminding you while this is indeed an incredibly extracted, decadent wine, it is still a baby and from areas of Paso Robles not generally pedaled to the 46-East tourist-trade. In the mouth an oil-slick of concentration muddles the pillars of structure into a delirious confection of bramble-berry and road-tar, Dr. Pepper and NyQuil. A clawing tannin doesn’t let you soon forget this wine. Typically I gravitate towards the South-county and Santa Barbara bottlings from this producer, but this York Mountain offering is straight-up rock & roll.
