Deep golden light hue with some sediment and haze. Big melon and brier, floral and frosting, cream sauce and steel urinal, mud and mandarin, each balancing the big fruit against the obvious pepper lurking. Rich and fat, overflowing with luscious petrol and minerality, a green thread winds along deep.
In the mouth, a calmness prevails as all the fruit and spice start working together. Round and full, concentrated into the 99th percentile of Rieslings at this age. Fat slabs of cream cheese and country Dijon calve off–hot and spicy but still managing to cram gobs of fruit into every austere corner as only this variety can do. A prickly burn compliments the dryness, creating a green, almost tannic finish. THIS is what Riesling Dreams are made of.
