Not-terribly-staining garnet, medium dark, with an abrupt edge. Funky hot nose, Peppermint Patti, raw jalapeno and plasticine. Serious searching rewards with gritty green petrichor and pruny fruit.
In the mouth, a density of cherry concentrate complementary of the burnished oak and typical Paso nuance extraction. Starting flabby, growing expectantly and finishing hot, it tells the Paso Robles story in a way many will love and I can’t find too many faults with. The Tempranillo is obvious and lends a funky muddled Euro-humanity magic to the blend. A very fun wine.
