Clear, rather light ruby out to garnet edges. Huge beautiful funky nose redolent with deep spice and churning rich dessert. Another St. Em satellite showing near-California-levels of ripeness and decadence.
In the mouth, beautiful fruit gripped in the clutches of instantaneous tannin and acid, an almost harsh stupid-young structure balanced precariously and perfectly against clean fruit, thinned with brilliant terrior and minerality. An incredible bargain, one well worth the search and REQUIRING a case-purchase for posterity. There’s a good chance the fruit will not outlast the copious tannin, but all the wonderful funk and fruit–with the price a huge factor–make it a risk worth taking for the next decade or more.
