Sublime petrol flows out of the early pour, richly wrapped around fresh-baked bread and tropical fruit. It hits again on the early palate, massaging the spice and acid. Buttery papaya and a touch of lychee, a smoky mid-section grips hard at all the tingly, propelling everything edgily into the crisp finish. Full and round with gobs of bite–neutral aging shining everywhere–grapefruit minerality easing the end-notes onto the tongue left bristly by cautious rasp.
An unusual handshake between two winemakers in a bottle and an uncommon blend of AVA’s–and absolute perfection with a couple extra years of *feel* in its soul.
