Oh the good ol’ days

Absolutely pristine. Perfect dense ruby, a little brick… Incredible spicy dusty Cabernet nose still bright and vibrant and packed with young fruit. Tertiary definitely inhabits the mouth-feel and the fruit is fading in the face of still vibrant tannin but it’s all juicy and gorgeous cherry-ridden sex. A throwback to when you could buy quality, well-structured Cabernet at grocery stores for 20 bucks. Price tag still on it: $17.99 These days are pretty much over, as stellar, classic bottles like this get moved out for flashier labels and chubbier, stupider red blends for the brain-dead and sugar-addled 99%.
