Clear garnet with a sublimely floral nose, green and rimmed with spice and mild vegetal angst. Sharp match-head plays with bright cherry, creating a most-welcoming bouquet showing pointed Pinot expression in cool-climate California ways.
Thick berry fills the palate in the way only pinot can do with such a light carrier. Ripe and spice-driven, acid creating abrasive counter-plays to the flush fruit. Barnyard is a light event, but present enough to solidify varietal characteristics. Shallow in finish, basically no tannin, just a bit of dry heat and vapidity dawdling on sweet fruit. A rather nice wine in its simplicity and focus.
