The Last of the Sawyers. The 2006 went south about 2 years ago but the 2007 had significantly more chops and this is my last bottle of the Bradford meritage from Foley’s purchase and subsequent short-lived reinvention as Foley-something son daughter wife whatever. Great spot and fabulous wine, giving you all of that Rutherford brilliance just going on and on. Spicy, mellow and sweet, the way a good old wine should be. With a chalky abrasiveness to the finish counterpointing the syrup. Wonder who’s there now.
